In our flock we have, besides what's listed on the home page, yellow ears and mostly cream colored eggs.

Frank thats sooooo interesting! I have NEVER seen yellow ears on any chicken, could you post a picture for us? It sounds so cool! I have cream colored eggs here too. I think the "brown" eggs description may be applied to a more cream colored egg. I received three "shaded" eggs from Shannon out of 12, but one of my RALA x Flatey hens is laying the EXACT same color egg right now. Some folks claiming only a pure white egg is Icelandic have nothing but RALA x Flatey birds. Is it possible that we are looking at the same color and calling it differently. I honestly don't know, but I did think it was interesting when my little RALA x Flatey hen started popping out these eggs that I refer to as cream color. She has a sister that is almost identical but without the crest who lays a pure white egg. So like the combs and colors there are variations in every area of these wonderful Icelandics! Thanks again Frank and if you can post a pic of the ears please do! Sincerely, Andyfromfbg
